Most animals give birth without any complications, however mothers occasionally need help with delivery. Our doctors try to resolve the problem with medical therapy first, but sometimes surgery is necessary to save both mother and babies.
During a c-section, the mother is given an anesthetic. Our doctor makes an incision along her abdomen and through the uterus to retrieve unborn puppies or kittens. In some situations, we may recommend that the mother be spayed during this procedure, to prevent future problems of this nature. Our goal is to send a happy mother with happy babies!
